Beijing subway system busy during Olympics
Beijing's subway system carried more than 68 million passengers from Aug. 8 to 24, said the Beijing Subway Operation Co. Ltd. on Wednesday. The company said more than 70,000 trains ran during the Olympics, more than double the number for the same period before the Games. The punctuality rate averaged 99.8 percent, slightly upon the pre-Olympics level of 99 percent.
