theres this beautiful white girl in my acting class that shared with the class that she speaks fluently in mandarin and Cantonese! when the class asked her to show them...she began to speak, and let me tell you, she sounded so beautiful i think i fell in love with her at that moment...and i don't feel that way at all with any girl ive just met. I think shes into Asian culture since she told the class shes into hello kitty and loves import cars she told me she has all Asian friends...she told the class she isnt like her sisters, and that she was different (assuming she means she likes Asian culture) and for the 5 minutes she took to introduce herself, i knew she was like no white girl i had ever met before, there was something special about her and i wanted to know more...until she mentioned in her introduction to the class that she had a BF (whos probably Asian, lucky bastard) which really broke my heart...knowing that i probably wont have a shot because of that..

she said she wants to major in acting and wants to move to Japan or China to pursue acting over there...which coincidently is my plan too but i didn't tell the class that!...but i cant stop thinking about her...she seems so interesting and unique! I mean a WHITE GIRL that speaks Chinese??? Thats not at all typical! She even said herself when people look her her, they go "Oh whos this white girl...OH she knows Chinese?!?"

Anyways...im new here so just thought id share....i cant stop thinking about her...i regret dropping out of that acting class because now its too late to get back in... Hopefully shes not on this site reading this...

Don't ever be so "disappointed" when a girl mentions his boyfriend. It's not like you're trying to steal her away or anything (unless you're that type). Go up to her and introduce yourself and let her know that her Chinese kicks ass and try to get a feel on how she got interested in Asian culture in the first place. At least you come out of a with a friend in the process. Good luck.

On a side note, I always find it amusing when people find foreigners speaking asian languages as an amazing feat. Anyone can learn any language if they put their mind to it and have the persistence and tenacity to do so. You may not be 100% perfect but you can still get along. Also, MANY foreigners speak asian languages if you live in asia or any part of the world actually. It's no different than visa students/fob immigrants coming here to learn english. Afterall, mandarin is the world's most spoken language followed by Hindu and then english. Yep, english is 3rd on the global list in terms of speakers. English however is the world's most written language and contains the most words at over a million + and climbing every year. When I lived in HK, Indians, Filippinos, westerners, middle-easterners, etc spoke cantonese/mandarin at some level. To me it was no big deal, it just enhances the cultural diversity. It's always interesting however to hear a westerner speak an asian language BETTER than the local population! Many foreign worker's kids are born in HK/Asia so speaking fluent chinese from the get go isn't an innovative thing. It's no different than if you learned russian by living there or were born there. In fact we had member who spoke fluent russian and korean! Hell, we had a UK member of greek ethnicity who sang in mandarin in her youtube vids. LOL.

To me, if someone Asian came here to learn English its no big deal to people, everyone speaks it here, everyone knows it...or if it was french or germen no big deal because its inside Caucasian culture...but for her to shock the whole class like that (i mean, a WHITE girl!) she even admitted it herself people are shocked, when they find out what she can speak...its so diverse from her own culture..I think its so sexy! Girls, if you want to make his heart sink, find a unique talent or something that makes you stand out from all other girls...it'll make him go crazy and be way more interested and puts you ahead wayy above the crowd!!

I dont remember how i found this site, probably through google, but i think its great. I think there is a change going on when it comes to how Asian males are being portrayed in the media, we are seeing more of them get more tv and film roles and seeing them being portrayed as desirable by white females now (Shanghai Kiss) which is a shocker.

I think its cool though, its not the other way around anymore where its a WM/AF....were starting to see more positive views on Asian males, again i cant stress enough how to media and film have such a powerful role in this and how it makes people think! Before we were made out to be frail,geeky,weak and weird...now its not so much, although to change is slow moving...its for the good and i hope it continues to move that direction! I wish i had a white GF like the girl i mentioned, she would have been a rare but great catch!

I doubt i will see her again since i withdrew from the class a month ago. Plus, that would be weird...this situation remonds me of that James Blunt song "Beautiful"....lol
