Lightbulb AM/WF Stats?
According to the US Census Bureau 2006:

Approx 30% of US born American Asian males are married to white females...

If thats really true, then why don't I see more AM/WF couples in general?

I have been to 35 states plus I have lived both on the west and east coast and yet I rarely see this.

Are these couples in hiding? The numbers just seem a bit high...

Actually, I have seen quiet a few AM/WF couples. Of course, me and my guy are one of them. The ratio is of course higher for AM/WF than for AM/BF couples. At least where I come from anyway.

I think the number is pretty acurate.

The thing is... it's all about math and geography. 30% of any race is large number but as compared to what? You have to consider asian males as a percentage of total US population and then take 30% of that as the true number. Then you have to consider geography cause not all asian male IR couples lives equally in all 50 states. The big cities where you have large concentrations of asian populations like LA, NYC, San fran, etc will bear most of the IR couples whereas the central and midwestern states won't. The biggest number of IR couples are San Fran, NYC, and the pacific northwest - Seattle which has a huge number being the IT hub and its proximity to Vancouver, Canada another large Canadian city with a huge asian community.

I am guessing those stats are from big cities also. I don't know where you live exactly, but I live on the Gulf Coast and I see some AM/WF couples here and there.

I see more AM/WF couples than AM with other race females (besides Asian women of course).

I am thinking perhaps that ratio no. is not too far off.

^ yup, it's 30% of the 4to6% estimates I've seen for Asian Americans vs. Total population..then half of that 4to6% so 30% of 2 to 3% of the population..basically between 1/2 to 9/10% of the American population is an AM in a relationship with a WF.

Why statistics and numbers can be decieving.

I don't live in a big city either, but I still see some AM/WF couples. I know one couple that is AM/BF.

I think perhaps as someone said already, if you live in a very big city like NY or something, you would see a lot more AM/WF couples.

I live in an army base and airforce city. It is a mixture of everything. The other day I was at the mall and I saw an BM/AF couple having lunch then a little later a WM/AF. There might be a slight trend where I live, lol.

hmm well I spent most of my life in Los Angeles, San Fran and Wash DC metro area- rarely did I see that combo.... Either way glad to see the trend is growing
