For me I would say it was a gradual thing. When I first started dating, I dated all race of men. It was after a few very good experiences with Asian men, that I found myself more and more attracted to them. Then after a while, I found I was more comfortable dating Asian men exclusively.

What happened to make you want to date only Asian men or to prefer them more?

Any experience that happened to make you feel this way?

Earliest indicator was watching Best of the Best 3. It was before i became a teenager. I'm not sure how much of an influence the movie had on me (it did have AM/WF, although they never kissed in the movie) I felt a connection with the character Tommy Lee (actor was Phillip Rhee). I suspect that seeing him being the girl's knight in shining armor did have some impact on me liking asian guys. I'm sure there are other influences, but i'm not sure what they are, or how they played a role in getting me to crush on asian guys...

Oh YES, I saw all the "Best of the Best" movies. And I think Phillip Rhee is very nice looking. It was nice seeing him with a non-Asian woman in " Best of the Best 3". That whole movie was about racism. It had a very good ending to it.

I never thought liking asian men was something taboo. One of my first crushes was a neighbor who was chinese who lived across the street. He was and Im sure still is a wonderful, smart, caring and highly attractive person. As I got older and was in school I learned that socially everyone segregates themselves somehow by religion and color. I always thought there was something wrong with this knowing there are so many great people out there that arent the exact same make up as me.

Learning more about asian media and culture just added on to the fact that liking asian guys shouldnt be taboo.

Seeing that asian guys have such a hard time coping with society and their own cultural taboos in relationships is a heartbreak though. Knowing that there are stigmas and stereotypes and cultural issues is saddening but I am hopeful I will make genuine friends at least.

This is an interesting read. Anyone like to share any more?

Mine was gradual, sort of like ProAzn's. I married a white guy and had a white son. When we divorced, I seemed more and more attracted to men who were different from me. I got into Native American culture and felt an attraction to Native American men (who, arguably, are related to Asians). That morphed into my attraction to Asian men, which is where I have stayed.

my story is pretty much already on here. But I'll admit I didn't find Asian men attractive till I was 30, and it took falling in love with one for it to happen. But now it's so easy to see beauty in Asian features that I never noticed before, that I feel silly for not really considering them before.
