I think it's more to do with fashion standards. The line between charge by the hour and lady is usually in the details. Serious nails or something like a "tramp stamp" tattoo, etc. But then again a lot of us Westerners walk a little too manlike in what my husband calls the sneaker clomp.

I think this is a very important insight. At least for 0.5 generation like me or traditional conservative AMs, we place the word "elegance" on top of "sexiness" or other similar adjectives in our attractiveness scale pyramid. Yes, the ones who grew up in U.S. or some others may disagree, but including myself, many Asian guys I know personally in my life usually dislike that look with overtly fancy dress, colorful accessories and nails, etc. In a somewhat arrogant way of putting it, it looks like you are saying "Look at me; I want attention today." Not very lady-like. Combination of being reserved, subtle, and modest usually trumps Paris Hilton look. Not that many non-Asian women can be like her, but just making a exaggerated analogy

humble, downplayin accomplishments. sometimes asian dudes need to pat themselves on the back more.. like when beating out the white dudes in head to head comparisons, contests whateva..

Hmm... well, we could list out the gold medals of all the Asian countries in this year's Olympics and I suppose this year at least, they're the best athletes as well.

Asian people (males as well as women) are good at cooking Many of my asian male friends cook good! They sing well and feel the beat when it comes to dancing.

I like their stature. It's always well-built, no matter how tall or not really tall they are.

And Asian men are not bald (!) Well, at least not with 24

Oh that is soo true! I have asian male friends and they talk about cooking and foods like we do. hehe. Whereas my non-asian male friends very rarely do unless it's a drive for fast food.

and the most frequently asked question when I'm with asian friends is "Have you already had your lunch/breakfast/dinner?" I wonder why is it so? Is it the importance of food in asian culture, or they are just so CARING huh?

It's just a routine greeting phrase. No different than we say 'How are you?' or 'Nice to meet you' in english. All my older asian friends say it all the time. The younger generation tend not too when they become westernized.

hmm, speaking of this topic, we had went out to dinner the other night with kids, and i said something about "calculating" being in the "asian DNA" (yes i was joking!) and i went on with the joke and said "you people just can't help yourself".. the couple in front of us, couldn't believe i just said that and made it obvious to turn around and look at us, to SEE what the heck i was talking about! ha..

should have went under random thought.. but, it is true, if it doesnt have to do with geometry and some mathmatical solution.. common sense seems to float on by.. ( and yes i am talking about one of my own genius children!)
