just because their culture is much older & more exotic than the white man´s culture?

I'm not sure why. I think its the mystery that draws me in into asian culture. Most Americans don't know asian history or the culture. I wasn't taught asian culture or history. And now, from little i learned, its very fascinating to me.

White mans culture seriously that is sooooooo a myth. White people come in many many flavours and many of us have ethnicity just like Asians. In fact most of us now or our family heads were the original Illegals and Fobs. Western Culture is a mix of English and Early puritan values and that has evolved greatly since. In fact even the evolved forms of what people see as pure americans have become their own ethnicities that vary per state and have their own accents and dialects that have been influenced by Gaelic, Irish, Spanish, and German people

We have traditions and superstitions and taboos just like Asians. Many of Us do not get the puritan way of doing things either. Everything is different the way we see things, and act, our religious practices and such.

Personally I did not get into Asian culture as much as I got into Asian music and media. From there (the media) you have natural curiosities on many of the unknown cultural references that are made. Why are mooncakes so important during new year? Why is that embryo in the jar? Why is nobunaga so important? Why do ghosts have no feet? What is so great about that particular firework.. and so on and so on.

Im sure it is Just like people in Asia who listen to western music and want to know more about the subject a person is singing about an such. Or watch western movies and wonder why yellow ribbons are important or turkey is the meal for thanksgiving.

I liked or was attracted to Asian guys before my interest in media because I grew up with Asian families on my block and in my neighborhood. They owned groceries and delis and sandwich shops and luggage shops and we were taught old ways of knowing your neighbor. Although we werent socializing with asian people 24/7 what we did is become a community of different people. And my generation attended school with every color cause we were their childrens children.

More so History all history is fasinating to me.. From the ancient to the recent and even New York history to me can be very exotic cause so many different cultures have helped this place begin and now evolve to what it is now.

Mostly for me how things are is a curiosity. I want to learn more just because it exists. So if I am attracted to asian culture its because its there.
