Children with cancer have found new allies in celebrities like Judy Ann Santos, Ryan Agoncillo and TJ Manotoc.
The three have agreed to support Cancer Warriors Foundation, a group that raises awareness and funds for kids battling cancer.
As Judy Ann describes it, “We were so shocked to learn that survival rates for childhood cancer is much lower in the Philippines than it is in developed countries. We only learned now that most cancers in children are treatable -- kids here just don’t have money for treatment.” So the three are helping to promote "Bike for Life," Cancer Warriors’ flagship project.
Bike for Life is a two-week bike journey from Manila to Davao, led by cancer survivors and parents of children with cancer. It will stop at 15 towns and cities to raise awareness on the importance of early detection and treatment for kids with the disease.
Bike for Life is also raising funds for treatment, through corporate sponsors, and by asking the public to donate any amount. Says Ryan, “It’s the least we can do -- we can only hope to have the kind of courage these kids have.”
The three celebrities are featured in radio spots currently being aired on Radio Partners and Crossover stations.
