A world of Asian beauties
Title : A world of Asian beauties
Date : 30 November 2007 1129 hrs (SST) URL : http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stori...314698/1/.html Will 2007 be the year when Asia achieves its first pageant double by winning both Miss Universe and Miss World - the two oldest and most prestigious beauty contests on earth? Asian beauty pageant fans and pundits are eagerly anticipating this year's Miss World finals in Sanya, China, this Saturday in the aftermath of Miss Japan Riyo Mori's triumph at the 2007 Miss Universe pageant. Expectations of a good showing at Miss World are high as a bumper crop of stunning Asian beauties this year have strutted to success at international beauty pageants. At the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico in May, Miss Korea Honey Lee came in fourth, while Miss India and Miss Thailand also made the top 15. India and Thailand also came in second in this year's Miss Earth and Miss Tourism Queen International pageants, respectively. Come this Saturday, millions of Chinese will be hoping that their country will have its first Miss World, and first-ever major global pageant winner. And they have good reason to be optimistic as Miss China Zhang Zi Lin, a 23-year-old company secretary from Beijing, is one of the hot favourites to win the crown. The tallest contestant from Asia at 1.82m, she is already through to the semi-finals after winning the Top Model competition - one of five "fast-track" subsidiary contests which propels the winner into the semi-final. Miss China had also placed second in the earlier Beach Beauty competition, which was won by Miss Dominican Republic Ada De La Cruz - another hot favourite to be Miss World. The closest China has come to winning the crown was a third-place finish in 2003, when the resort town of Sanya on southern Hainan island first played host to the pageant. Miss World has been held in Sanya since - with the exception of last year when Poland staged the contest. With the return of the pageant to China this year, Miss World chairman Julia Morley - who is also the head of the judging panel - may want to reward the host country for the years of warm welcome. The other Asian beauty touted as a top contender for the title is Miss Malaysia Deborah Henry, a 22-year-old model. Of Indian-Irish descent, the 1.78m tall Eurasian lass is the best candidate our neighbour has sent to the Miss World pageant since 1998 - when another Eurasian beauty Lina Teoh did Malaysia proud by finishing third. |

Miss China looks fucking hot in that pic. But, it could be one of those cases of good from afar but a far from good like a lot of these beauty pagent contestants.
Asian chicks are definitely the it women right now. They should milk it for what it's worth before the trend fades. |

I don't mind a CBC or ABC now and there. But I don't like the Asian Asian types. |

Sure peasant fobs aren't the most chic and fashionable and probably not easy on the eyes. But, you can doll them up to your specifications. Get their hair done in a high end salon, get a makeup artist to do some work on her, fix her teeth, a good wax job (mainly her upper lip, her nether regions, and her possible unibrow), throw some GAP and Payless shoes on her and voila. Most peasant fobs I've seen end up to be hot after getting a makeover. Chicks dig makeovers. A lot of ABC's and fobs from the major Asian metropolitan cities are just out of control here in the U.S. They're way too strong minded, materialistic and not grateful towards their man. You might as well just date non-Asian women. Last edited by Mango girl's boyfriend; 12-02-2007 at 08:43 AM.. |

Well, being a Non-Asian woman dating Asian men, I have had to learn some things and to change some ways about my thinking.
For instance, if I were dating an Asia Asian man, I learned to be more submissive and accepting of the man. But I have never been one to nag anyway. I am not a nagger and that has always done great in my favour. If I dated a Western born Asian man, he was more like me in his Western thinking side, but it sometimes felt like I was dating a non-Asian guy if he was not too much in touch with his Ethnic roots etc. The best Asian man for me really is the one that was either born in the East but has lived in the West for a while so a non-Asian woman would not blow his mind, or a Western born Asian man who was raised with his Culture and such and has the Asian part to him that I love. I hope I made some kind of sense there.
