According to YG Entertainment, Se7en will be discontinuing activities in Korea and Japan in 2008 due to his US debut.

Se7en, who stays in Los Angeles to work on his US album, will still be working on the album until the first half of 2008 and will also make himself visible in the American market. YG explains that it is necessary for him to gain "weapons" that will give him a strong, first impression to local officials, resulting to a dormant schedule in Korea and Japan.

US debut preparations are going well. Aside from Se7en getting the support of producers Mark Shimmel, Rich Harrison, Noize Trip and a producer that still remains to be anonymous, the Korean singer also had his name "Se7en" trademarked last September 20.

I'm so excited for his debut. I'm really hoping he is successful in the US market.

But how welcoming will they accept an asian artist?

see it still goes to show no matter much success an asian guy gets in Asia he still has to make it big in america. das still what success is measured as. living the "american" dream. why? to please the white man. i mean if you make millions overseas who gives a fuck about the US market really? first rain and now this femme looking dude.

Why is it Nonasian singers can sing IN english in Asia but not vice versa? Why is it that asian people can listen to english music but not vice versa? Why does it all have to have a undertone of race and the man? pleasing whitemen but not pleasing himself? A new market means doing more of the work they love so much. A new challenge.

cause in the end its all about the US dolla not because they really "care". they think they are the asian dude that will break the white barrier and convince all to look at it a different way. point is, its a predominantly a white market. cant change that. sure they get all the minorities chics all riled up but the masses wont pay attention. it will end up like chow yun fat and jackie chan - a new act on the block but gets old fast. notice how their movies are now STV - straight to video cause no one cares for the "novelty". kudos to them for trying but thats like how successful is a white based singer gonna be in china? yea, a nice fad at a beijing casino but nothing outside of it. just sayin.

The US dollar isnt that strong at all. Se7en can make lots more money in Japan or China.

I think this talk about white Barrier is ridiculous. Have you seen the charts in the US latley they are filled with many many different colors as well as color collaberations. In fact most of the people on the charts now are mixed and as for asian there are tons of phillipinos like vanessa anne hudgens and enrique englasias who are all over the disney channel.

The issue is asian artists like hikki and coco who tried to break into the US market screwed themselves by slutting themselves up. We dont need another madonna or paris and we definitley dont want another britney. The reason why we like these asian artists like wang lee hom or se7en is because there music is awesome.

Coco is pretty but she aint Se7en pretty or has Se7ens ability to belt out a song.
