After knowing his younger brother had been killed in Australia, Lee Dong Gun quickly flew to Sydney to hold funeral observances for his brother. Up to now, his state of mind has still not recovered.

It has been three days since Lee Dong Gun's brother was killed in central Sydney at 1 AM on March 20. The cause of his death is what public is most interested in. People wonder whether he had conflicts with the murderers before or had a fight with them right on the spot, which led to his death.

According to Sydney reporters, two Chinese men were arrested right after the crime has happened, and they are brought to Parramatta Court. They are Michael Li and Ivan Wong, both are Chinese students. They are living in Carlingfold, Northwest Sydney. Some news sources say that these men are members of an Asian mafia gang in Sydney.

His management company said “Because Lee Dong Gun’s family wants to held a funeral in Korea, they have done all the requirements that needed in Sydney in order to bring his brother’s body to his hometown. Recently, Lee Dong Gun is very sad. He has not talking to anyone in these days.”

His close friend said “Because the funeral is organized in Korea, Lee Dong Gun and his family are very busy. The exactly day for the funeral will be pointed out when Lee Dong Gun comes back to Korea.”

21-year-old Korean man, who was stabbed and killed by two Chinese gangs in Sydney on 20th March 2008, was turned out to be a brother of S. Korea's famous actor "Lee dong-geon".

The two 18 year olds responsible for the killing were caught by the police. They are Michael Lee and Ivan Wong. Australian Police are trying to determine if they belong to a Chinese gang which is plaguing Sydney's Asian communities. The suspects admitted that they killed the one Korean (Lee Dong Gun's brother who died instantly with 14 stab wounds), and seriously wounded another 20 year old Korean student, friend of the deceased. The wounded Korean is in serious condition, fighting for his life. One of the suspect admitted they killed the foreign exchange student because the Koreans were "looking down on them".

Stabbed Korean student 'robbed of his life'

Police have described the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old Korean university student in Sydney's CBD overnight as a senseless act.

Officers were called to the shopping complex at World Square about 1:00am (AEDT) after receiving reports of two men suffering serious injuries.

When they arrived, the found two Korean men lying on the ground with stab wounds. The victims were taken to hospital but the 19-year-old died. The other man is in a serious condition after surgery.

Witnesses told officers the pair had been attacked by two men who fled the scene in a taxi.

Two 18-year-old Chinese men were arrested near Redfern train station a short time later, after police broadcast a description of the taxi on police radio.

Superintendent Mark Murdoch from says the attack was extremely brazen.

"I would think that people who engage in this type of behaviour care nothing for what surveillance may or may not be in a particular area," he said.

"They have a point to prove whether it's reputation or trying to establish a reputation.

"It's clearly an idiotic, absolutely unbelievable and senseless attack that has robbed one man of his life."

NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione has denied there are not enough officers on Sydney's streets at night.

Commissioner Scipione says it was not a random attack and there is no need to boost night patrols in the CBD.

Lee Dong Gun, who is currently facing the tragic death of his younger brother, is going to debut in Japan as a singer and release a Japanese maxi single album entitled “Tsuki Akari,” which will be released on the 26th. Lee Dong Gun signed a contract with Sony Music Japan for this singing venture.

Aside from the new song “Tsuki Akari,” the single also includes “YOUR SONG,” and the Korean versions of Matsuda Seiko’s hit “Anatani Aitakute-MISSING YOU,” and Tokunaga Hideaki’s “Last Excuse.”
