What is the true role of the family in developed societies? Is family piety an outdated concept? Some feel that families are nothing but sources of toxic emotions. As soon as they are able to stand on their own two feet, they leave the nest and set out in the World alone. Is this Western value of Individualism actually rotting our society from the inside out?

To start, I consider culture a societies' response to dealing with making life livable given their environment. So it follows...

Shit! That's right shit. At least so I thought, for the past month or so he's being saying it alot. I just kinda cringed and promised myself to cleanup my language.

So I'm not proud of this, but I had to spank him yesterday. I've been trying for a couple weeks to get him to stop hitting me, and nothing was working. A doctor (and yes a minority, Russell Peters would be happy to know) suggested that I paddle him for it..I guess it was my final resistance, I was getting desperate to stop it.

So I did it, I felt horrible....

You know, I haven't believed myself to be a Christian for a long time. But something has been ringing true in my mind these last few days. That of the Christian lesson that God never gives us more than we can handle.

Anyone who's been close to me knows what a complete shitstorm this past year has been for me. Husband's affair, my divorce, my parents situation and impending divorce, questions about who my father actually is, my health, single parenting, school, new memories of past...

I hope this gets easier, today I was tested to what my limit probably is.

I was trying to figure out my toilet (first shitty situation, but whatever) I had the top off and I didn't realize my son could reach it. Well he knocked it over and it broke and he cut his finger. The cut was only about 1/4 long so I wasn't too worried at first.

I started to clean it up, but it just kept bleeding more and more, I was trying to restrain a frantic toddler, hold his hand still,...
