Several years ago "That '80s Show" had a supporting best friend character "Roger" played by Eddie Shin.

Can't think of any right now, though. I'd love it if one came out!

They are Classified as sitcoms according to TV.com

Couch Potato classifies Off Center as a sitcom and All american girl as a sitcom.

The rest are drama and situation comedy.

TV.com is defining it really broadly, then--

Originally "sitcom" was short for "situation comedy." A half-hour comedy in which the situation gets resolved in 1 episode.

Jack Soo is best known as one of the original asian actors to be portrayed in a non-stereotypical role in prime US TV. He died in 1979. Not current but still nice to see the actors that paved way for those of the current generation. Most well known for his portrayal of St. Nick Yamena in the Barney Miller series.

I think there was a show called "The Single Guy" and the main character's friend's gf was Asian. She was the "quality" girl in Joy Luck Club.
