It's all about ignorance.

The question is: Who's responsibility is it to educate? Do Asian men and women need to PROVE to everyone that they are worthwhile to date/*uck/marry? Do alternate ethnicities need to prove that their choice in men (Asian) is an exception to the rule or a genuine choice? I've always been the type to say "screw them" if someone is ignorant feeling that one doesn't need to prove anything to anyone. Instead choosing to try to raise others up, but by the time these boys become men, perhaps the damage is done and many have low self esteem due to these ignorant people.

Sweden's cost of living is way expensive! Bring a lot of kronas. Don't expect US price levels. I used to trade foto lenses with a guy from Stockholm. He said the same lens would cost 3X that of the US price. Even tho I was charging more than the current US market, he would gladly take it!

I find racism so sad, not only because I believe everyone are equal and there is no better race, but because I myself come from racial background, my Dad is 1/2 black and was put up for adoption as back in the 50's, this was not allowed. So I hate it so much!! Plus if anyone says anything racist I will either leave or tell him how it is not true. Racism SUCKS!!

You have to keep in mind that the USA and Canada (and Australia and New Zealand) are former colonies of Western European nations and are greatly influenced by the invading settlers so the power structure and outlook is the legacy of that foundation. The media is largely 'normalized' as white, youthful, Christian.

Since my youth I see it changing for the better but it is cyclic love-hate relationship with Asians. What mainstream society is ready to accept are the following:

1) Hypersexualized, submissive Asian females
2) Asexual Asian males in technical background roles, unless they know martial arts
3) Asian children that must be saved from poverty through adoption
4) Asians make better spouses because they are traditional men/women but because of their race or assumed background. Rarely are they viewed as attractive on individual, non-racial or non-cultural qualities.
5) Asians have stronger ties to an ancestral culture and are therefore less American even though virtually all American citizens come from some immigrant non-native background
6) Cruel, cold, democracy hating enemies

There is the perception that Asian immigrants benefit from a model minority stereotype that they are all hard-working, rich, great at math/sciences, mysterious, traditional, will not fight back or put up a fuss, do not speak English or if they do speak English they should be complimented on how well they speak English even if it's their native language.

There is no magic country or society that is free of this perception of Asians. Even if you 'repatriated' to an Asian country you stand out if you are not native to it. So it can be a double-edged sword.

In regard to the Sweden women I have to ask if it's Sweden women themselves or the person who produced and edited it. I'm sure there are Sweden women that are either partial to or at least do not exclude men based on race. My question is why would someone put this together and air it?

I can't say I agree with most of what you're saying -- especially regarding Canada -- but I do understand that people go through different experiences in life and thus some times end up forming drastically different viewpoints.

I'm also from Toronto like you and have lived all across Canada in fact. Can't comment on the US or any where else since I've lived in Canada my whole life, but apart from playground racism when I was young and a few isolated, very rare experiences, I'd say I'm pretty inexperienced in being a victim of racism.

The comment about it being few and far between for Caucasian women to date outside their own kind is something I COMPLETELY disagree with. You live in Toronto! Look around man! AM/WF couples are EVERY WHERE.

Again, just my opinion formed from my personal experiences, but I think Canadians are awesome when it comes to being accepting of others, open to new experiences and keeping broad generalizations to a minimum.

The funny thing is I've talked to some Asian guys living in Sweden but they don't really have that much problem. From what I've been told a lot of Swedish women are open to date outside their race however their standards are very high (and this goes for all men) and also they are generally reserved. It seems everybody have different experience.
