This is my first post beside my introduction. I don’t know if I posted this under the right forum. I hope I’m not too far away out there.
Lately I have read a lot of personal blogs and listen to a radio programme about the Swedish view of Asian guys. The name of the radio programme was if you translate it to English “mother Chinese, father Japanese and poor little child”. The summery of the programme was that the Asian guys are viewed as nerds, small and tiny, with small dicks and therefore with no sexual ability and it is ok to make fun of Asians. The radio programme brought up a feature from a Swedish TV show. The TV hosts asked around in Stockholm (the capital of Sweden) if there were any girls/women that had ever fantasized about having sex with an Asian guy. The result was quite depressing. Every girl/woman said no, the reason differ from that Asian are small or that they are from another race. The radio programme also brought up the issue about why it’s ok in Sweden to make fun of Asian. In Sweden it’s not OK to say something negative about black, Jewish or/and Arabic people but it seems quite OK to make fun of Asian. If you say something negative about black people then you are a racist but if you say something negative about Asians that’s OK. Please watch these commercials. These were aired not so long ago on regular Swedish channels. I know that you guys can’t understand anything what they say but I think you get the picture of how it’s OK to make fun of Asian here in Sweden.


As I told you guys before, we in Sweden can buy candy named “Kina Puffar”. I think it’s a scurrilous portrait of an Asian guy. And that is OK to sell it here in Sweden, but I don’t like it.
I have read and heard from a few adopted Korean guys here in Sweden about how they feel about this. They feel unattractive in the eyes of Swedish girls. They feel as they are treated as if they didn’t exist. Because of that they want to move back to Korea. I feel it too. In my entire live I have felt unattractive in the eyes of the Swedish girls because of the Swedish view of Asian. I have had a few girlfriends but only girls from Asia. Ok, I’m quite shy of me too, but if you don’t feel attractive it makes much harder to try to pick up girls. That’s the main reason why want to move back to Korea.
I want to hear how you think about this issue. How is the situation in USA? Is it the same as we have it here in Sweden?
I’m sorry that my English is quite bad. I hope you guys understand what I mean and manage to overlook my poor English. Once again I’m sorry.

eh..depends where you go in usa...if you go to some redneck place like ..uh...basically the entire east coast then well ur gonna have quite a bit of racism..if you go to a large city its not really an issue...if you want to avoid racism all together go to canada

Racism exists everywhere and yea, even in Canada. It's really the approach and attitude one takes and that comes from top down. In Canada, the government practices or instills the concept of a cultural mosaic and tolerance and that minorities benefits and adds to the overall cultural experience. In the US it's more everyone for themselves and cultural bias with the "me, me, me" attitude. That adds more derision when it comes to minorities and cultural segregation. Keep in mind that goes back to the slavery days in US history. So the concept of racial divide is much more apparent south of the border when it comes to any race in general not just asians.

I totally agree with North, there is racism everywhere although it's more discreet in most place but it's prevailent around the world. People are selfish, cruel, and inconsiderate...if they really want to?! I totally think that people are really narrow minded and stereotypical when it's come to Asians.... because they are afraid of their culture and believe that all asians are the same for example; Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese etc are all diffferent in lifestyle and culture for the most part despite some similarities... People are always afraid and scared of the unknown ( asian culture ); and since they hear all kinds of different stories ie like Chinese or Koreans loves to eat dogs or drinks cobra venom etc... they get turned off. Most asian are a small build in body mass therefore their body parts are smaller but do I see white men complaining about asian girls???

I think you should suck it in and prove these swedish people wrong... Go talk to them and spent some time with them maybe they might go a different view of asian people.

In Canada, most Canadians or white girls date their own kind but there are some exceptions but it's still and very few and far in between...

I am sure that if there are some swedish people living in Korea??? They will also be made fun of by the Korean? It's cuts both ways my friend, something to think about???

This is a subject I feel strongly about so please excuse me if this post is very long. I hope I don't bore you guys to death with it.

This is how I feel about this:

When I started this site, I started it with a couple of things in mind.

1. When I first started dating at 16, my first boyfriend was Asian. I dated all race of men since I was 16 up until a couple of years ago. Then I started dating Asian men only (exclusively). My reasons for this is more in depth than simply finding Asian men attractive. There are ethic reasons for it too. Anyway, I won't get into that now.. it would bore you guys to death.

I started this site to show as many Asian men I could that there are non-Asian women like me (I am Caucasian) that LOVE Asian men and want to date them. I am aware there are still many non-Asian women out there that date ONLY their own race, but making this site was my way of starting to spread the word.

2. I also started this site in dedication to the appreciation of Asian men and their Culture. I can not change the world. I am not naive nor am I arrogant enough to think for one minute that my site could make that kind of impact. However, I can damn sure try to get word out there. My objective with this site is not to make every single non-Asian woman out there want to be with only an Asian man. BUT my objective is to make non Asians understand Asian Culture. I can not stand Asian stereotypes (or any stereotypes for that matter) and I am trying to help change that, even in a small way, on my site.

People shun and reject what they don't understand.. and that is with any race. It distresses me to hear Asian men feel rejected by all women except their own race. I think it sucks and it pisses me off to no end. With some of the Asian men I have dated, they have told me of their experiences with Asian stereotypes and about rejection from non-Asian women. It really upset me. It embarrassed the hell out of me being white and it made me angry that people could be so stupid, arrogant and narrow minded. Although I understand that not all non-Asian women will want to date outside of their race, there is no excuse for racism or stereotyping.

It upsets and pisses me off because I have seen the beauty of Asian Culture and because I have learned the teachings of Buddhism, I know that most of these people have no damn idea what Asian Culture is really about. They reject and judge out of ignorance....

And by the way, not all Asian men have small dicks.. that is a load of crap.. I know that first hand.

Arrgghhh I could go on and on about this subject.

I agree with Pro in some things. When i learned western european history and what they have done to minorities, it disgusted me to no end. I feel embarrassed that some of those people might be my ancestors...and reason i got started learning about Asian culture is that i felt i needed reasons to explain why i like Asian guys.

I am a born American but my roots are Italian and I lived in Italy. I know that the attitude toward foireign people in Europe can be very cruel and offensive. I think it is because these countries are so closed off from diversity for so long they do not see others from other cultures or physically as a true human beings. They only relate to people like their own.

In Italy right now Chinese and Phillipino people have it very difficult. Other asian people although are considered trendy such as Japanese, Veitnamese and Korean. It is because Chinese usually immergrate illegally and Phillipinos take very low class jobs. It doesnt matter if they are hard working because Italians feel they are competing for work especially in the local markets. Their is also alot of offensive jokes on the media about asians and blacks. In america this would be considered bad and very offensive but in Italy everyone accepts it.

So I understand how you feel. Ive been a witness to it.

Swedish women will come around to see there are many attractive Asian men but it will take time. Just think about the attitudes of Korean people towards nonKorean women its the same. We all relate to our own and accept that because it is a normal practice. Swedish women need to be exposed to a better understanding and nonstereotypical Asian men images. I am sure there are a few who already love Asian men too, but they are very rare.

As for the USA

You must remember the USA is very Large. There are places that are just like sweden in the aspect of xenophobia.

However, the image of the Asian male is changing everyday. With places like Proazn and more girls like us gathering and finding one another we see a trend of nonasian women who love asian men.

Hallyu works for romance too.. many girls here love korean men because of korean drama and music.

I think you are going to find racism no matter where you live in the world.

As far as the Swedish women go I think they are just ignorant. The ones that are rejecting Asian men I mean. Most people reject things different because they don't understand it. These Swedish women probably have never even been with an Asian man and because they look different to them they think you will be like an Alien I guess which is really stupid.

Don't listen to them. You just keep your head up and keep going and trying. You will find the best place for you.

I think it's a real shame that these Swedish women are acting that way. Like others have said, they are acting out of ignorance. That is their problem and not yours.

Don't listen to those women. They have no idea what the hell they are talking about. Asian men are wonderful. Once I woke up to them I have never thought about a white guy again. I have dated hispanic men and a black man before. But Asian guys have that something that I love.

I hate it when people judge something without even having tried it. That's what those Swedish women have done.

I don't think you can really go anywhere in this world without racism, even in Korea. But in America, we are used to different races and Cultures. You can always come to a bigger city here.
