thanks to one of my friends i've become a makeup junkie.
she spends alot of money on mac products and her makeup always looks beautiful.
i've been watching alot of youtube videos by makeupgeek and she seems to only use mac.

i was wondering what you guys use. i know that mac is awesome but are there other brands you think that are just as good? i've been using smashbox powder, foundation, and their concealer sticks, but when it comes to eyeshadow i get nervous spending $18 a piece, especially when most looks require several shades.

i went to ulta today with my friend and i couldn't bring myself to spend alot on shadow so i ended up buying the ulta store brand shadows. they seem to work great.

also, i've been tempted to buy some face primers and eyeshadow primers. do these really make that much of a difference?

Jane is the same company as mac, it's made in the same factory and is inexpensive.

Although some of the pigments aren't as dark.

I'm really pale, so I don't like really bold pigments.

I've been using Sonia Kashuk lately and loving it, especially the lips.

Also I use some phsyicians formula because of my combo skin lately. I use the mineral makeup and i just picked up an eye pallette for blue eyes which works really well. It's a bit frosty tho, I need to go more for matte colors now, too many laugh lines at the end of the day!

I used to spend more on makeup and wear a combo of lancome, chanel and estee lauder, but with the exception of mascara I go cheap now, with just as good results.

The best cheap mascara is Voluminous by Loreal, but it can smudge and isn't as waterproof as my favorite estee lauder. So I think the extra is worth it there.

I have this amazing palette by Urban Decay-it's bright, which is just the way I like it! I also am dying to get the Ben Nye Palette, it has all these amazing concentrated colors. I don't really like mac because their colors dull out after a while or they just didn't pop the way I wanted them to in the beginning. But I haven't tried their foundations yet... So I might do that when I have the time and money to go to Macy's.

i don't own anything by urban decay, but i think i'm going to get some of those eyeliner sticks. my friend tried an eggplant shade on me and i was amazed how easily it glided on.

i like to use quality foundation and powders but i can't bring myself to spend that much on eyeshadows and mascaras. ulta brand eyeshadows are only $6.50 each compared to $16/$18.

i didn't know mac owned jane. is the quality comparable?
