crimpers? waste of money? or worth it?

iv been thinking about buying some crimping irons, just to schnazz up my hair for when i go out clubbing/partying

but my mum is dead set against it and says that it'll seriously ruin my hair and that i shouldnt waste my money on them

so does anyone have crimpers? are they worth the money? or should i not bother?

opinions greatly appreciated thanks!

Remember crimping irons are just like curling irons and flattening irons. Even if they are the better proffesional tools they dry your hair out.

Its best Keep your hair hydrated.

But you can always get precrimpped clip ins for that same look.

All in all though I wouldnt use any hair damaging products all the time. I would style my hair as such once in a while this way there is not that much damage

get a ceramic one. They aren't as damaging and can add shine to your hair. Warning tho, if you have a lot of hair, crimping it is a major pain in the ass. If the juice is worth the squeeze to you, then go for it! For me, I'd say fuck it, but I'm a wash and go kinda girl.

Since my hair is naturally curly, I don't use a crimping iron, however, I use a straightener sometimes.

I think get a ceramic one like MG said but perhaps don't use it everyday.. doing anything like that can damage your hair after a while.

yeah i was just thinking about using it once in a blue moon. i have naturally curly hair too but iv seen techniques used where u can use it to create MEGA volume (exactly what im looking for)

i have rollers, curlers, tongs, straighteners, lol almost every hair appliance u can think of!

i guess if i do get some i should use heat protectant spray right?

any setting spray with a leave in conditioner would work too.

I would buy them as long as you don't use them all the time.
Yes use a spray with leave in conditioner. Just don't over-spray because then your hair will be too oily and the curl will not hold.
