Hey guys,

After browsing through the forums for awhile, I noticed that there isn't much writings regarding us Asian guys expressing the appreciation for non-asian females. I think Conquest started a thread on it, but it died pretty quickly (sigh).

I am going to share (short) stories of my experience with non-Asian females and talk about why I came to like them so much. I encourage other AMs that visit this thread to share their experience to show our gratitude.

My dating experience is not too extensive, but I met several people at certain points of my life. The first time I was seriously spending time with someone was Rachel (false name designed to protect the anonymosity of my first crush ). She was somewhat broader in body, and I think some poeple even hinted to me (mainly Asians) that they were surprised that I was attracted to her.

I think I was so drawn to her because she was so unbelievably sweet. Although many people around me thought of me as driven, tough, and perhaps emotionally cold guy, Rachel had a way of making me feel fuzzy and warm inside, you know? Yeah, I was young, and every one of you is probably thinking, "wait till you get older and see the reality." But I think many Caucasian women (majority of non-Asian females I dated were Caucasian) I met really have this personality that makes you know that they care about you.

And I liked the fact that they like little things. A random phone call to ask about what is going on in life, a sudden visit just to see one another, etc. Little things matter. Oh, and as far as physical attraction is concerned...

There seems to be a mind set of "tiny/thin = attractive" in many asian community. And honestly, I am not completely exclusive from this mentality either. However, at the time I was seeing Rachel, I was oblivious to what others were hinting at me. In fact, I thought she was the most gorgeous woman out there. And I also know that Caucasian are, in general, "bigger race" overall. They tend to be taller. They tend to be heavier. I don't think she could help too much about who she was and how she was. Besides, she had blue eyes and semi blond/brunnette hair that I thought was soooooo pretty.

Anyhow, I don't want to ramble too long so I will stop here. Man, after this talk, there is now no way I can reveal my face on my profile. I guess I feel embarrassed after talking about my "first experience."

Anyways, my fellow Asian guys, fire away...it is your turn.

my GF (let's call her 'snowlady' as i nicknamed her) offered me more for the past 2 months or so since we've been together than i've ever received from anyone else in my life (parents excluded).

first of all, she pretty much rescued me from my less-than-happy former self that was in the lowest point emotionally. i'm a fairly modest person. but the problem of being modest at times is that i have high standards for myself and nothing i ever do is nearly satisfactory enough to me even though my peers may think differently. when someone compliments me on something, i'd often disagree and say that i don't think i deserve such compliments because i'm simply not good enough. so when i do perform really bad in things, i tend to have low self-esteem. snowlady loves me the way i am and keeps reminding me that i'm worth more than how i perceive myself.
also she's given me the future i can finally look forward to. with her, everyday is bliss and i can sleep at night in peace knowing that whatever happens, i still have her at the end of the day.

at this point, the fact that she's white and i'm asian seems to be such a minuscule matter. it's kind of ironic to say this on the forum that's made for covering interracial relationship related topics, but ours is one that transcends it to the point where any of the interracial relationship issues many people seem to experience will be the very last thing snowlady and i care about.
