I've found that when people talk about catching a significant other cheating on them they'll say something about beating up or in some way hurting the third person that the cheater was with. For example if a boyfriend was to catch his girlfriend sleeping with another man he would beat up this other man. This is something I've never understood. This other guy is just getting his rocks off and may not even know that the boyfriend exists, it's the girlfriend that is hurting the boyfriend by cheating. If the girlfriend had an orgy with ten men, would the boyfriend take it upon himself to beat up all ten? My point is, shouldn't the boyfriend be focusing on how to deal with his cheating girlfriend rather than on this guy she's cheating with? Any opinions or comments?

The logical thing is deal with the cheating girlfriend rather than the person she is cheating with but I find that in those situations all logic goes out the window. I can imagine the pain being devastating and in such an event thinking with your heart rather than your head takes over.

Well what I think is that in most cases, people don't walk in on their boyfriend/girlfriend having an orgy or sleeping with someone else. But if this did happen, I do think things could get physical. A guy isn't going to hit his girlfriend, he's going to hit the guy. But if it were the other way around, the girl is likely to hit both parties, unless she's super mature and can handle herself "appropriately". I know I couldn't.

I like your take on this one. I've notice that many men who find their significant other cheating on them will likely go after the other person mainly because it is by instinct. It's an alpha male thing meaning they will not think about it and use all their aggression with another guy and then deal with their girlfriend later. It's an excuse to physically hurt the other guy. There are some cases where the female would let the other male know that she has a boyfriend and he may still go after her only because he knows that she is not happy with the current bf or she wants to know what's better out there. Of course if the female knows she has a bf but does not let another guy know about, it is up to the guy to use his special ability to determine if she has a bf or not and not get involved or else some confrontation will likely to happen.

In most cases the other man is unaware of the existence of the husband/SO then you are correct. However, there are just as many cases where the other guy/girl is aware and are intentionally cheating with a married partner for the hell of it. Those are the cases you see most on Jerry Springer with the obligatory fistfights. Of course a divorce is not as dramatic as 3 rounds of boxing separated by commercials. LOL.
