Those British cars were so cute! I went to my high school prom in an MG Midget--I could hardly scrunch my whole long dress in so that the car door could close! LOL

I recall in HS this guy used to drive the MG to school everyday. We thought it was the kooliest looking car and he must be loaded to have one. It stuck out like a sore thumb amongst all the crappy GM's and Chryslers of the day. Turns out you could buy one for 15 grand or less. That was still big money in the day..

Some GM vehicles have gotten a lot better. For example, many Buicks and some Caddies are rated just as high as Lexus and ahead of the Germans.

BUT,

The fact is (and sorry, MG), most GM cars cannot compete with the Japanese or even the Koreans in terms of design, fit & finish, performance, etc. These days, GM (plus Ford and Chrysler) get by with discounting their cars heavily ala Hyundai to get people in the door. Remember those "employee discounts" they were giving? Also, Chrysler is now offering a "life-time" warrenty for original owners. It's a nice gesture but many think it's gonna be a financial nightmare in the long run.

So you want a Saturn Vue heh? It's actually a pretty nice car but I'd also take a look at the Honda CR-V or Hyundai Santa Fe before deciding.

It didn't look good back in the day when GM (I think) made commercials showing toyotas being driven off a cliff to give the message that the competition doesn't compare. The commercials were taken off air soon after.

I date all guys but prefer dark hair and dark eyes, that doesnt limit my preference to 'asian' guys, i 'prefer' asian guys, hispanic guys, italian, even a white guy with black hair...i hardly call it a fetish....
