I was watching a show.. in the show a guy walks up to another guy and says something like "Since you and your girlfriend broke up do you mind if I date her?"

And my dad was standing there and he said, "Ugh .. guys don't do that... guys just date the girl. They don't ask permission."

Stupid question, right? I was just curious though what you guys think. If any of you (girls or guys) had this experience. LOL.

yeah that happened to me when a friend of mine (for a number of years) asked me if it was ok for him to date my ex.

I thought it was a little on the creepy side,, and I don't think I could date someone who has been shagging one of my buddies. There's just something about that that's inappropriate.

I have had something close to that happen to me. She asked how I would feel and I told her if it would make her happy then don't worry about what I feel. I won't go into any details but I used another friend as a counselor to help me get over my feeling since my passive aggressive actions were becoming more blatant towards her.

I had one friend a while back become interested in one of my ex boyfriends. She went out on a date with him and on the 3rd date, she discovered why I broke up with him because she saw it in him herself. She didn't go out with him anymore. Yeah, it was a bit awkward at first I must admit.

Dating an friend's ex is a big no-no. Sometimes you need to get away from it all; not even think about your ex but having a friend who is dating her makes that impossible... unless you stop hanging out with your friend.

I won't do it. You will lose a friend in the process.
