Apparently, you haven't heard of it. "AFA" (A Foreign Affair) is the largest matching company that matches men and women internationally by organizing foreign city tours.

I'm too poor to do anything like that!

Have not heard of AFA specifically, but was told many of these firms are cover ups for sex tours, mail order bride scams, prostitution, etc. esp. operations in the overseas markets. Just research the company carefully and shoot a few emails to various members to gain solid feedback. The promo staff tends to tow the company line whereas members will more often than not, tell you the truth.

They probably will do all they can to hide the negatives. AFA appears on CNN, 69 minutes, and many tv talk shows.

I know a few guys in Taiwan that went to the mainland for wives and a few 1.5ers that went to Taiwan to get married. Most people I know met in the states through friends.

I think it could work but you also have to beware that you're about to get supremely screwed. I've heard a couple of horror stories on the Taiwan-mainland matches. Then again, I've also seen it work out as both parties expected.

Uh... I'm not even sure I should say this because I don't want anyone to overshoot the scope it would apply to but I think you want to beware that you're not getting scammed into prostitution.

How much are they asking? I'm just curious.
