Anyone from Canadian cities know the status of am/xf couples is more acceptable than say the US?

Using what I've read on these forums as a comparison, I'd say yes definitely am/xf couples are more acceptable in large canadian cities compared to the US. I'm talking about cities like Vancouver, Toronto etc. I doubt that anyone in these cities would even bat an eyelash if they see a mixed couple, they are very common, along with the high percentage of visible minorities. Now it might be a different story in smaller cities and towns where there are fewer visible minorities. Also there are provinces where there aren't as many minorities, so it might be different there as well.

Damn, I need to move to Canada then!

AM/XF couples are very rare in the UK, and almost non-existent in Asia.

The only place I've lived where I've seen a fair amount of AM/XF couples would be Australia.

I think this has to do with the difference in how the 2 countries' histories differed with respect to multiculturalism and integration. The US has slavery in its closet and segregation, racist practices are ingrained within US society since then. Canada on the other hand was founded upon fur traders, natural resources, and nationalism. The government instills a concept of a mosaic society founded upon respecting (not changing) other cultures and promotes differences to mesh within the existing framework rather than being told you "don't fit".

Toronto is considered 'the' multicultural city. It's no different than the united nations here. Every race, culture, language, etc you can find it here. In fact of the 100 asian immigrants that file within Canada every day, approx 70 will choose to reside in Toronto. We have the 2nd most asians of any city next to San Francisco in North America. Chinese account for over 500K+ and the remainder asian populations account for the other 500K+ totalling well over 1 mil or 30% of the city's 4 mil population. Sure you get stares, remarks every now and then, I mean no place is utopia for am/xf couples. For the most part no one cares, everyone is a minority. In my neighborhood it's over 90% asian and indians/blacks accounting for the remainder. You would think by looking that someone is a red neck white dude only to find out they are polish, greek, german, brit, etc with accents to boot. Definitely not a place you can judge a book by it's cover. I think all large cities in Canada are like this esp. Vancouver.

Certainly smaller towns or "hickville" you get less integration and more racism but that would be true in any country esp the states. In terms of IR, you get everything here - am/xf, af/wm, am/bf, etc. Many a time you can't tell if they're a couple or just friends or acquaintances.

Yea, TO is considered "beige" for the most part, everyone mixes with everyone else simply put..

Canada is not the only place in this world
if I were in Johannesburg - South Africa for instance, where the racism is sometimes still going on between black people and white people there, I would surely find a nice and charming white south african girl.

I was in Toronto during the summer and the diversity was a fresh change from other countries I have visited. I was encouraged by the many inter-racial couples/families I saw throughout the Province. I would consider moving to Canada but I'm a beach and sun girl, what on earth would I do with my collection of 80 swimsuits? Besides after hearing first hand about the 25 inches of snow that fell last Christmas in Quebec City in an 8 hour period kind of sealed the deal for me.

Then move to Vancouver! Gets chilly in the winter compared to the US, but by far, the nicest weather in Canada.

As for the original post, Canada is definitely great for interracial dating, which is why I found it odd when another member here from Toronto mentioned that this wasn't the case and he's from Toronto!

My girlfriend is Canadian so I'm a bit biased on this topic. Pretty sure that any area with more liberal views (i.e. major cities), no matter the country is better for interracial relationships.
