Girls: How long was your longest relationship and was it with an Asian man?

Guys: How long was your longest relationship and was it with a non-Asian woman or an Asian woman?

Why did it end? and what did you learn from it?


My longest relationship to date is the one I am in now. It's an Asian guy. We are together almost 6 years now.

10 years, was with a white man.

Ended because he's a lying cheat!

Learned too many lessons to list. The one that sticks out the most is that liars always lie.

My longest relationship was 3 years 2 months and 6 days. yeah, I counted lol

It ended because we just realized it was going no where and we didn't love each other anymore. sorry, no dramatic ending there.

I learned that relationships take work; give AND take.

Let's see... well I only had one relationship so far with a Dominican guy. It lasted 3-4 months... I don't know, nor did I really care to count at the time. He did the counting. lol

Umm... I learned a lot, especially to kiss and never love. Sort of...

My longest relationship lasted about 5 years. It ended because of many reasons but mainly because it was a waste of time 'cause I knew almost from the start I'd never want to marry him and I think that tells all.

And it was the first and so far only German man I had a relationship with.

I learned so much of it that I cannot list all that. If I would want to do that, I would probably still write tomorrow.

A year or so will make it a decade and a half. We calculated we've been together for about 1/3 of our total life span so far. Lessons learned? I learned that everyone else loves Japan way more than Asians do, especially Chinese. No love lost there. But I would also like to think we've done much to quell the intra-Asian ethnic rivalry (to put it euphemistically) and increase tolerance on all sides. I'm the only one in my family in either my generation or previous to marry an Asian and my husband is the only one in his entire extended family to marry out. There was some uncomfortable moments during family meets when talk started turning towards "The War" but it sorted itself out. My grandmother has even started acknowledging the Chinese influence on Japanese.

My husband and I had also tackled a lot with respect to bi-cultural identity, assimilation, monoracial vs. mixed, and whatnot though not really in specific terms. As of late though I think he's starting to come to terms with what marrying out really means in terms of long term life adjustments. Yeah, I told him loooong ago but sometimes people need to work it out on their own.

i guess its boyfriend girlfriend. Hmm, longest one so far is with you know how. (Yeah we still talk and stuff...) Six months. Official longest one was with my first ex, three months. I don't know why my first ex and i broke up, but i did learn that there has to be more than physical connection in a relationship.

Most of my relationships were long....the longest one was with a J girl....7 years. She was from a big family and had to take over after the dad passed...I was not willing to live in Japan at the time...so we split.

My last long one was with a white woman. 5 years...She was too popular, I wore out. Being asian and being with gorgeous blondes in the US is like a night mare....Made me wish I was not asian just so I don't have to deal with the BS associated with it.

on top of the usual funny stuff going on about mixed couple. There was a major jealousy factor that can lead to even violence if we were in a wrong place. "Let's get that chink boy and teach them a lesson"....(my bad for loving the wild parts of the country...much red necks in those parts...LOL)

She had a following that kept her busy fending them off....(She said she was in love with me, and I think that was the truth....If that was not there I don't think we'd lasted that long.)

Then I had a middle life crisis and dropped from society....that was not too gf friendly to say the least....
