Ever had a boyfriend who had a ex girlfriend you hated? Even thinking about her would drive you insane?

or vice-versa for the guys...

I've never met any of my partners' exes: don't even know their names. Sure, we've talked about past relationships now and then, but only in passing and never in detail. And I don't think anyone I dated was in touch with their ex while we were dating; if they were, I never knew.

If a woman is concerned about her boyfriend's ex, that means the ex is still in the picture somehow: either the boyfriend is still in contact with her (and yes, him complaining about his ex calling all the time is HIS fault -- STOP ANSWERING THE PHONE!), or he's still talking about her a lot. In either case, he needs to quit it -- there's no reason his new girlfriend should have any sort of relationship with his ex, or be bothered by his ex. It's not like SHE dated her!!

HOWEVER, if he was married to or had kids with his ex, then it's more complicated and I have no advice.

I dated a guy for a while who had a crazy ex girlfriend who he complained about. She had broken up with him a month or so earlier. Everyone was telling me how nutso she was, how jealous and judgemental and alcoholic. She left him for the (male) roommate she was living with at the time. I never heard anything good about her, even from him. The ONLY positive thing he said about he was that she had a "bouncy" personality... and I had to ask him for that.

Anyway, when she found out that he was dating someone she started calling him again. She would cry and scream at him and tell him that she was mad and didn't ever want to talk to him again then she would call a few days later crying and wanting to really 'talk'. Then she wanted to talk to ME! She wanted to 'get to know me'. BS!

Anyway, one morning she called and he left me to go talk to her because she sounded really upset. 5 hours later they had decided they wanted to "try again" and I was very easily kicked to the curb. ~Sigh~

For a while I was REALLY crushed about it. Not so much because of him but because of the situation. I was second placed by a girl who I thought (and who everyone else thought) was a total lunatic. Eventually I realized it was for the best, because the guy was actually a pretty big loser, a total weirdo, absolutely going nowhere with his life and he didn't care. He was just icky in general. He was a rebound from my engagement fiasco. Of course I couldn't step back and see any of that until later when I wasn't having to fight off his ex girlfriend.

They're still together, and I think it's great that they have each other and that they've found something that maybe will last. I have someone too, someone incredible that I might not have ever met or gotten to know without all of this crap happening. So I'm even more than thankful that things worked out the way they did and this creepo was a stepping stone to that special someone that I'm with now.

not really, but my ex's girlfriend now bugged me, not cuz i'm jealous of her i really dont care, but she was the one who was crazy about me being his ex and ripped up all our wedding pictures, my family's photos, my babies pictures of him being born, ripped the tape out of my 6 year olds birthing video, ripped up pictures of my now dead mother whom i only have 1 other photo of now because when i left my ex he wouldnt give me any of my stuff back and he was immune to any legal action like divorce or ANYTHING for 3 years cuz of the soldiers and sailors relief act. still, she had no right to be that way, those were my personal memories and i cant get those back. so i'm interested to know why other women think the 'ex' is so terrible too, cuz apparently this girl thought like that.

I've been fortunate enough not to deal with psycho ex-girlfriends. My boyfriend is so nice, he's remained friends with a few of them, and I get along with them pretty well too. I even met one of my dearest friends through his most recent ex. The only thing that irritates me is when they assume I don't like them just because they're his exs. I've been going out with him for over 3 years and their relationships barely cracked a month. Its like why would I dislike you because you dated my boyfriend for a month in high school two years before I even met him?

this is exactly how my relationship is with my gf. despite all the drama we had to endure in the beginning, i'm really grateful how it led to something that's worth living for.

When I was dating the Dominican guy, his ex-girlfriend would call him and tell him that she still loved him. So I was pretty much shocked when he told me all this. She was angry when she found out about me, but never gave me a problem about it, she went to him! She saved me alot of pain in the future actually.
