My skin is white,
My heart is asian,
My blood is Jewish,
My roots are Russian,
I grew up among christians,
So,who am i?

I read a section of Don Lee's Yellow Stories, where one of hte characters towards the end of hte story agrees that its better to be with your own kind. My question is, where would people like me fit in?

The only thing I can think of in response is something written by Raquel Scherr Salgado, in "Misceg-narrations":

“While mixed-race theorists may envision the obsolescence of race and traditional cultures that encourage race-based thinking, identities reassert themselves precisely because they are imagined. This being the case, as mixed-race writers we must continue to propose counter-imaginaries and deliberative procedures, which see in details larger human movement without ridding themselves of the tension and paradox that inspire them.

This call-and-response discourse can help us to deal with moral and political problems whose complexity is often masked by the media, and post-national ideologies that have the capacity to propagate facile and false public imaginaries” (66).
