This is another attempt in writing another story. This is a practice one. I am attempting to make it easier to read and working on better terminology and description like what you would see in a novel or fiction book. This story is made up and the characters and likeness is coincidental.


May 2007

I received a letter in the mail from Hyatt Regency Bellevue in regards to getting a job offer. I don't like opening letters because I became accustomed to getting rejection letters. I finally took a deep breath and thought to myself that this is it. I am going to find out if I will finally leave California after 20yrs of living here. As I flipped the folded page of the letter, I found out that I got the job! The first thing I did was call the hiring manager to arrange relocation information and I thanked him for giving me a chance to work with his organization. I called mom, dad and sis and told them the good news! I was giddy like a schoolboy can be!! I started to scream out of my lungs like my prayers have been answered! I looked at the clock and it's almost 3pm. I called my girlfriend Kelly. She was working till 5pm and I mentioned to her that I need to see her after work. I told her to meet me at the Irvine Spectrum at this sushi bar called Yamazaki(I forgot the real name of the restaurant).

I started to iron my long sleeved dress shirt and my Diesel size 32 jeans. I got out my Ferragamo "Bruno" shoes and started to wipe off the dirt and dust with my old white shirt. I took a can of Kiwi black shoe polish and started to polish my shoes. I turned on the tv and was watching the soccer channel. My team AC Milan was going against Manchester United in the European soccer tournament. At that time David Beckham was still with Manchester United squaring off against my favorite Brazilian player Ronaldo from AC Milan.

It was a good match. I raised the volume of tv as I walked to the bathroom. I took my unscented shaving cream and started to smother it to my face. I looked at the clock and it's alreadly 4:00pm. I can't believe the clock is moving so fast. I took my gillette shaver and started to shave off my goatee and side burns. I heard the announcer from the tv just mentioned that Ronaldo made a goal by using his version of Pele's bicycle kick over the United's goalie. I had to run over there to see the replay of that kick and drops of shaving cream fell on the floor. Oh no! Now I have to clean up the mess but it was worth it to see the goal. I turned off the tv and headed back to the bathroom. I went and finished off my shaving. I finished up and went and took a warm shower. I am using Aussie Mega shampoo for my long dreadlocks past my shoulder blades. It took me a long time to grow my locks and went to find the best locktician to do my hair. Luckily I knew someone from Long Beach that can do my hair. It's rare to have an asian guy like me to have dreadlocks but I really don't care with other people think of me. It's just hair not my personality. Some people who joke and say if I do smoke you know what...and I tell them no. I like being different and breaking stereotypes of what people are so used to. I don't have nose piercings or tattoos...I don't act like a thug. I wear glasses but I am not a nerd. I am just an easy going guy. I opened up the medicine cabinet and found my "old number 32 spiced rum" cologne. I cupped my hands and started to rub my hands together and slapped my face with the cologne. I know Kelly is going to kiss me all over once she gets a sniff of this stuff.
