How do you think you will relate to your mixed kids? Do you think you're prepared emotionally for it?

It's taken my husband two years to come to the realization that his son is not really Taiwanese like he is. I've been waiting for this to happen at his own pace, after all I'm already mixed so I'm more accustomed to it.

my kid's are going to have more of an Australian accent than I am and I'll try my best efforts to learn my native language, but for sure 100% he's going to have a pretty poor 2nd language lol worst than mine definitely, and I'm not even fluent!

I'd say if I wasn't emotionally prepared for it then that would not be the best time for me to have kids. And that would just mean the love and respect that I would have for my wife would not be sufficient?!

Arent all kids born with a blank slate ? Culture, language and identity comes from their environment and the parents/ or whoever is raising them. multicultural children come from a cultural balance at home. multiracial doesnt always mean multicultural....does it?

I really do want mixed kids. English will be 1st language and I'll encourage them to take Chinese as a second language, but I won't force it. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and hopefully one day they'll be interested in the Asian cultures.

Good point. But that leads to a "Nature vs Nuture" kind of debate.
