An unknown species of ant called the Raspberry Ant is creating issues for Texas residents. The ants have erratic foraging habits, appearing to dart in every direction but straight ahead. The ant has quickly become a nuisance both to the local ecology and to the people living with them. They are omivorous and will eat everything from flora to other insects and even the hatchlings of a local grouse called the prarie chicken.

Who knows, they might be able to spread to other regions in the United States in several years.

yea i thought about that, i used to live in Oklahoma so im glad im not there anymore as well lol. well it will take them a while to get to Tn lol

Fair enough. But there are other methods of them getting to other regions. It is believed these partciular ants are from Columbia and that they could have been transported via ship in a larger shiping container.

I live near an army and air force base and with troops going from one base to another it could happen here. And this past summer, we just got rid of the ant problem we had in our backyard. One can only hope the ant problem in Texas will be contained soon.
