There are a lot of cat lovers in this group, so I wonder if any of you have had similar experiences with your kitties....


My cat seems to think that her job is to snuggle with me when I am not feeling well, and the funny thing is... she does seem to have some power to heal my pain.

Ordinarily she can be aloof when I invite her to sit on my lap or lie on the couch with me when I am relaxing. But if I am not feeling well, she can't wait to come over and snuggle with me.

When her sister was still alive and I was sick, the two of them would lie on either side of me. It did make me feel better.

It has been shown that petting a dog or cat (or other beloved pet) can lower a person's blood pressure. So it's not that far-fetched that cats' healing powers might go a little further. They are mysterious animals....

Cats are fun to have around and one particular cat would wake me up by using his paws. Cats are sensitive and they sometimes do human kind of things. I have one that can open cabinets and closet doors(without a lock). They are simply amazing creatures.

I'm a dog person. Golden retrievers are my fav.

Cats are truly awesome... Whatever you were describing my cats do the same things. They are so sweet. They sleep when I sleep and the greet me everytime I come home. They snuggle will me and cheer me up when I am down. They lick my hand to show me love. They bought dead birds in my living room; obviously to show me love. Whether it's cats or dogs...Pets are super and they are great companions. I would have gotten a dog but it's was too much for me to handle.

I love cats. I love all animals but I have a special affinity for cats. My beloved Blitz is my heart.
He is a black cat, I mean solid black;even his paws underneath are black.

A couple of days ago, one of our dogs attacked him. We (my sister and I ) had to get rid of the dog. It was hard because I know my sister loved him. She is more attached to the dogs than I am. Anyway, the dog attacked Blitz by grabbing him by the neck. Blitz got away from him but he ran away. He was gone for almost two days, I guess because of the Trama. Guys, I worried sick about him because I didn't have any idea how injured he was. He could have gone off and died for all I knew. Animals tend to do that when they are really injured. They sometimes go off on their own somewhere alone and pass away.

Deep inside, I had a feeling he was still alive but I had no idea where he was. I had called the pound to see if animal control had found him. My stubborn little butt won't keep on a collar with a tag so I knew if someone found him they wouldn't know who he belongs to. The pound told me they did not pick up a black cat.

I worried and worried about him. I could hardly sleep. Well last night when I went outside to call him, there he was. I burst into tears (I am not ashamed to admit it to you guys). I picked him up and looked him over. He did not appear to be injured too badly. I fed him because he was starving. And I cuddled him some to let him know I loved him and missed him.

I was so happy to have my cat back.

I know this thread is about a cat healing a person, but it reminded me of my experience with my Blitz over the past two days.

I'm glad the story had a happy ending!

Cats are pretty hardy (9 lives, of course!), especially if they still have their claws to defend themselves.
