MULTIPLICITY: The Art of the Furniture Prototype Design contest
Deadline: January 15, 2008
Exhibition to be presented at the Neuberger Museum of Art June 15 - August 10, 2008.
Images, entry fee and entry form due at The Furniture Society January 15, 2008
The competition is open to industrial designers, studio furniture makers, architects and artists. Prototypes may be of any type of furniture in any materials - created since January 2000 - and intended for production, whether small batch or mass production. Only full-scale, completed prototypes will be accepted. A full-color catalog of the exhibition, with contributed essays, will be published and distributed by the Furniture Society. In addition, the exhibition sponsors will present three awards of $3,500, $1,000, and $500 selected by the jurors. These prizewinning pieces will also be displayed at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) May 17-20, 2008.
