well MG, is he settled in now and how are things going?

for the most part, he's still waiting on deliveries, and doesn't have internet/tv yet, as well as doing stuff like switching his car over and work orientation stuff.

Things are going ok, didn't see each other this weekend, I have/had some car issues and it was rainy so I didn't go up, and I had my son too, and I was freakin tired from my hell week. Had some school drama, car trouble, got a ticket, a zillion errands to run, have an exam on tuesday, think the baby is cutting his 2 year molars early because he's been cranky, tugging at his ears and waking up alot at night, and I took him in and no ear infection.

Ok just reading that list makes me want to have a cocktail and veg out lol.

my goodness, sounds like you might need to get another car. But I know that's hard since you are a single mom and all. Hang in there, it will all work out.

It's good to hear he is getting settled in. It does sound like your son is cutting his big teeth. My sister has a two year old and his big teeth came in before he was two as well. Good luck with that, she said it was a nightmare for her and her son.

We didn't make MGB and I. In the end the differences just outweighed what was good.

Lessons learned:

Culture clashes are really major problems. Both sides must have an understanding of where the other person is coming from or resentment just builds.

don't use negative terms when dealing with cross-cultural issues. Different approaches are not wrong, or stupid, they are simply different. Respect the other position, come from a position of understanding each other's point of view and don't belittle it. When judging the actions of the other person, try judge them from their point of view, not yours. Then again, I guess empathy is the heart of every good relationship, interracial ones just need larger doses of it.
