Hey gang,

What would you do with your government stimulus check? Any ideas?

If I get the maximum which is $600, I would...here are my choices:

1. Fly to Spokane, WA and check out job openings and scope out the area for 1 day and fly back to CA the next day.

2. Save it for a rainy day and use it to buy HK style milk tea.

3. Pay off bills and buy some nice clothes and shoes.

4. Use it for "date" money.

Technically the stimulus check is to "stimulate" the economy via spending. It's the classic economic approach of spending your way out of a recession. Essentially shifting the demand curve to the right and allowing suppliers to catch up via increasing production, more hiring, and hence, fatter more robust economy. Unfortunately without a well though out plan and auditing system people will use it anything but.. "stimulate" the economy. Paying off debts is the best use although thats 'oh contraire' to the intent of the stimulus plan. Of course some will spend it abroad (in Canada, Mexico, and elsewhere) and "stimulate" their economies instead and highly doubt the merchants receiving the monies will turn around and buy US made goods and services as a kind gesture. lol. Essentially the stimulus check is just another freebie tax refund courtesy of Bush.. But who am I kidding, if I received one I certainly wouldn't bitch! Mums, the werd!
