When you die, do you want to be cremated or buried?

Is there a reason why you want it?


I prefer being cremated. I just don't like the idea of rotting in the ground. The thought of it repulses me.

I want to be buried. It's just the way my family is.

I would like part of my ashes scattered too.

I would like to be cremated and to have my ashes scattered in the open sea.

I love the sea. It just ignites my imagination like nothing else can. I'm normally quite a no-nonsense, go-getter kind of guy, but when I am near the sea, I just get all dreamy and poetic. LOL

I love water sports, I love scuba diving, I love beaches, islands, basically anything and everything about the sea. And I am a water sign too. And my Chinese name has water in it.

So yeah. I want my ashes to be scattered in the sea. Preferrably the Caribbean or the Andaman.

Cremated.

I don't care where my ashes are scattered. I'll leave that up to my children/grandchildren. They can spread me where they like, whatever is the most comforting to them. Death rituals are becoming more and more personal these days so in the end, I'll leave most of the decisions up to those I left behind. It's their emotional crisis, not mine...I'll be dead.

Really the same is true with either being cremated or burried. Saying that I want to be cremated is just a comfort for my active emotoinal self. I'm claustrophobic so the thought of being in a box 6 feet under the earth gives me the heeby jeebies.

As many here I also would prefer being cremated.
I don't like the idea either to rot in the ground and I feel sick imagining what that will look like...yuck I know that is not logical because I will not see myself rot but I feel that way nevertheless.

And the idea of being scattered over the sea sound real good but I don't know if that is so important to me. Nice idea but no more.

I don't have a preference. I wouldn't mind if my body parts were used for research instead of just being disposed of.

Cremation also saves precious land space and is financially less costly than a full burial. Already we see funeral scams where in order to save costs, some shady characters are putting 2 bodies to a casket or burying one casket on top of another - all unbeknownst to the families.
