i've noticed that on this website a lot of people don't post pictures of themselves on their profile. why is that? are people embarassed by the way they look? or are they embarassed to be associated with the website? just curious...

My avatar is an expression of who I am. So is my profile picture. If you look in the gallery I have posted pictures of what I look like. Also I have some in my profile.
Many people post pictures to reflect who they are.
No one is embrassed to be on this site or what they look like.

To each their own. lol. This question has been asked several times in the past. There are just as many guys as girls who have not posted profile pics. That tends to be the same on many forums. Now if you have a larger forum membership it appears more members are posting pics. Question is this... if someone posted a pic does that automatically make you think differently of the person than what they otherwise posted?? Now there's a thought. For the record I have posted my pic as avatar a while back and also posted in the 'show my abs thread'. Many members have posted a pic in the members section of the foto gallery. Else you can pm a member and see if they will send you a pic.

There are several reasons why some people don't post their pics on forums:

1. They want to participate but want to somewhat retain privacy in case co-workers, ex bf/gf or whatever sees it.
2. Some of the women in the past have been harassed etc and don't want a repeat experience.
3. They are in a relationship and either they or their SO (or both of them) dont want to post a pic in case someone else gets interested in them.


I can assure you that no one on here is ashamed to be on here; otherwise they wouldn't have bothered joining.

Like North said, I am sure if anyone wants to see a pic of someone, they can pm them and ask them.

Thanks to this thread I discovered the photo gallery with member pictures even though to my shame I have to admit I am here long enough to have noticed much earlier. So shame on me

But it was very interesting indeed because some people look all different from what I imagined. So there were some surprises
